Due to additonal funding, we have an exciting opportunity available for a SEND teaching assistant to support a reception child who is currently on a part time timetable. The role will involve working 1:1 with a delightful boy who has Autism, is pre-verbal and accessing an individualised multisensory curriulum, to transition into the classroom.
We are looking for a candidate who:
1. Has previous experience working within an Early Years setting or Reception Primary School setting
2. Is committed and passionate about helping children to learn, thrive and flourish.
3. Has experience of successfully working as part of a team.
4. Is committed to ongoing professional development.
We can offer you:
5. Children who are respectful, warm and want to learn.
6. A truly supportive team of staff at Newington.
7. Support and guidance from our excellent SENCO, Early Years SENCO's and Local inclusion team.
8. A well resources and innovative school.
9. Ongoing training to support own professional development.
Experience of working with children with SEND and key documents including EHCP's and personalised plans would be an advantage but is not essential. Training will be provided. Fundamentally, we are looking for a candidate who is kind, hard-working and who will work with the child's best interests at the heart of everything they do.
You will be contracted to work 15 hours per week, during term time only, 12-3pm.
The position is for an immediate start and will be a fixed term contract until 31/08/2024 in the first instance.
We may interview applicants at an earlier date than stated, therefore encourage candidates to apply early.
