FPGA Engineer (VHDL) | High-Speed Embedded Systems UK | Onsite in Staines Contract - Outside IR35 A leading advanced electronics engineering company is looking for a talented FPGA Engineer to join their growing R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-speed embedded systems, developing FPGA firmware for cutting-edge sensing and signal processing applications. You’ll be involved in the full development lifecycle, from early concept through verification and hardware demonstration to production. The Role As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing VHDL firmware for high-performance FPGA systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across hardware, software and production. Key responsibilities include: Developing VHDL firmware for high-speed applications including sensor acquisition and signal processing Designing FPGA logic for embedded and high-performance systems Verification, testing and validation of FPGA firmware Skills & Experience We’re looking for engineers with a strong FPGA and embedded systems background: Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field FPGA/VHDL development experience Experience with FPGA vendors such as Xilinx and Lattice Experience with serial communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, RS232/485, CAN) Knowledge of high-speed protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, USB, Aurora or sFPDP Experience with hardware debugging and lab equipment Familiarity with schematic capture/simulation tools is beneficial not essential (Altium, Protel, pSPICE or similar) Some scripting/programming experience (e.g. Python ) is beneficial What They’re Looking For Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage and prioritise complex workloads A proactive approach to troubleshooting and development Excellent communication and teamwork skills A goal-focused mindset with strong attention to detail Why Apply?
