Full Time

St Joseph's College is a vibrant independent day and boarding school in Ipswich, providing a broad and seamless education for boys and girls aged 2 - 18. We offer a wide range of stimulating and challenging opportunities that our pupils embrace in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Our all-round education aims to develop pupils into well-rounded individuals who challenge themselves to ‘be our best’ in every aspect of life at the school and beyond. Our innovative teaching approach contributes to our success, starting from the Prep School through to the Senior School and Sixth Form.

The College’s History department is vibrant, popular, and successful, with strong GCSE and A Level outcomes. Many students pursue History or related disciplines at university. The department is part of a large and supportive Humanities Faculty, and the successful candidate will join a team of experienced History teachers. Educational visits, including trips to the Battlefields of Northern France, are a key part of our enrichment program.

We seek a dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspiring teacher to uphold the College’s strong provision in Politics and History. The ability to teach A Level Politics is essential. The candidate should be able to challenge and engage students of all abilities and support each student to reach their full potential. A genuine passion for the subject and willingness to contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities, are important.

Further details and an application form are available at www.stjos.co.uk/our-community/job-vacancies or by contacting the HR Officer via email at careers@stjos.co.uk or by phone at 01473 690281. Early applications are encouraged as the College may interview prior to the deadline.

The closing date for applications is noon on Thursday, 24 July 2025. The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
