We are scaling our core platforms and embedding intelligence into every layer of our ecosystem. We are looking for a Senior Java & AI Engineer who can bridge the gap between traditional, high-performance enterprise Java development and modern AI/LLM integration.
You won't just be calling basic APIs; you will be designing intelligent agents, optimizing vector search embeddings, and building scalable RAG pipelines that process enterprise data securely and efficiently.
💼 What You’ll Do
* AI Integration & RAG Architecture: Design, build, and optimize RAG pipelines and LLM-powered applications using Java frameworks like Spring AI.
* Backend Engineering: Develop and maintain high-throughput, low-latency microservices using Java (17+) and Spring Boot.
* LLM Optimization: Implement prompt engineering best practices, guardrails, and caching mechanisms to optimize LLM performance, token usage, and accuracy.
* Cloud & DevOps: Deploy and scale AI workloads on cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
🛠️ What We’re Looking For
* Strong Java Core: 5+ years of commercial software development experience with Java and the Spring ecosystem.
* Hands-on AI/LLM Experience: Proven experience building applications that interact with foundational models (OpenAI, Claude, Llama) and implementing RAG architectures.
* Vector Search Proficiency: Deep understanding of embeddings, tokenization, semantic search, and working with vector databases.
* Engineering Best Practices: Strong knowledge of data structures, design patterns, microservices, and writing clean, testable code.
* Location: Fully based in the UK with excellent asynchronous communication skills for a 100% remote team environment.
