Job Summary

Who we are

At Via, our mission is to provide the best health and wellbeing support to as many people as possible, helping them to change their lives for the better.

Last year, we supported over 11,000 people across the UK affected by alcohol and drug use. Everything we do is driven by our values:

• Care. Care for people is at the heart of everything we do.

• Be human. We are accessible, genuine and humble. Always learning.

• Do the right thing. We're open, honest and inclusive. We get things done.

We want to recruit the very best talent. We believe in nurturing a positive workplace culture where our colleagues feel valued, recognised, empowered, and supported.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead Via’s Redbridge, our adult drug and alcohol treatment service.

This is an exciting moment to be joining us. Via has recently been re-awarded the contract to continue delivering this service, a recognition of the quality and impact of the work our team delivers every day. As we build on that success, we are investing in strengthening our management structures across all Via services within the Borough – which also includes young people, sexual health, and smoking cessation services. This role sits at the heart of that ambition.

As Service Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the full breadth of the Redbridge Adult service, working closely with the Area Manager, a Deputy Service Manager, commissioners, partners, and the Redbridge management team to drive continuous improvement and deliver outstanding outcomes for the people we support.

This is a role for a confident, values-led leader who is ready to shape the next chapter of Via Redbridge, developing a high-performing team, embedding effective governance, and championing Via’s values, within a culture of recovery, inclusion, and innovation.

Key responsibilities

1. Provide strong strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the Via Redbridge Adult Drug and Alcohol service

2. Maintain and develop relationships with the London Borough of Redbridge commissioners and key stakeholders.

3. Drive performance, quality assurance, and compliance across the service, including CQC requirements

4. Lead, develop, and support your management team and wider workforce

5. Champion service user involvement, trauma-informed practice, and recovery-oriented approaches

6. Contribute to service development and strategic planning at a local and organisational level

What you'll bring

7. Substantial experience in managing drug and alcohol or other health and social care services – with a clear understanding of Safeguarding and CQC requirements.

8. A track record of leading high-quality, person-centred services in a commissioned environment

9. Strong understanding of quality frameworks, and regulatory requirements

10. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

11. A commitment to the recovery model and to reducing inequalities in access and outcomes

If you are an inspiring leader who is passionate about supporting people to achieve lasting recovery, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of Via Redbridge. We look forward to receiving your application.

Alongside a rewarding role and the opportunity to work with a diverse and inclusive team, we offer an excellent range of benefits, making this a great time to join us.

This is not just a job: you'll help people rebuild their lives, reconnect with their family and friends, return to work or education, and much more.

We're looking for individuals with compassion, good communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

If you're someone who is a good listener, stays curious, and wants to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Deadline: 12/7/26 at midnight

Salary: £43,606.00 - £51,867.00 including London Weighting where applicable

Vacancy type: permanent

Working hours: 9-5 Mon-Fri, with some late clinic in rotation with other colleagues.

Our Area Manager, is happy to talk through this role, what a typical day might look like, development opportunities, and Via’s national network. You can reach Helen O’Connor at
