Postdoctoral Fellow – Psychology
UNSW invites applications for a Level A Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct mental health research with the Australian Defence Force. The Fellow will work collaboratively with the School of Psychology and ADF staff on intervention studies, project management, statistical analysis, and dissemination of findings. This is a fixed‑term, 2‑year, full‑time position.
Key Details
* Salary: $113k – $121k plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.
* Location: UNSW, 5 km from Sydney city centre.
* Reporting to: Scientia Professor Richard Bryant; no direct reports.
Responsibilities
* Design and conduct intervention studies on mental health in ADF personnel.
* Perform literature reviews on mental health and interventions for common disorders.
* Undertake specific research projects under a research leader’s guidance and contribute to research activities.
* Prepare peer‑review manuscripts, including statistical reporting and literature summarisation.
* Present findings at conferences and workshops as required.
* Demonstrate UNSW Code of Conduct, values, and health & safety policies.
Selection Criteria
* PhD related to mental health and relevant experience.
* Experience with sophisticated statistical analyses.
* Ability to synthesise peer‑review literature and undertake high‑quality academic research independently.
* Track record of publications and conference presentations.
* Experience working in a research management role.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Commitment to UNSW aims, objectives and values and relevant policies.
