Fixed Term Service Appointment in Dermatology (ST4+)
Closing date: 28 May 2026. This is a fixed term post from 29 June 2026 to 28 February 2027 to cover maternity and is not recognised for training.
Job responsibilities
Prior dermatology experience with the ability to perform procedures like biopsies, curettage, and simple excisions is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to cover outpatient inflammatory and USC dermatology clinics, support the day care unit, biologics infusions, and day surgery. The successful applicant will join the consultant clinical team for dermatology and the experienced nursing dermatology team in providing dermatology services.
Person Specification
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent.
Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
Must be ST4+ with FY1 & FY2 Signed Off.
MSc or PhD.
Experience
Evidence of general dermatology clinical experience.
Additional evidence of dermatology inflammatory clinical experience.
Additional evidence of dermatology USC clinical experience.
Additional evidence of dermatology minor surgical procedures including the excision of skin lesions, shave biopsies and curettage & cautery.
Skills, Knowledge/Abilities
Effective and demonstrable patient communication skills in written and spoken English.
Up to date with current medical practices.
Ability to make appropriate clinical decisions when necessary.
Research and interest relevant to dermatology.
