The Role
This is a hands‑on position responsible for the programming, setting and operating of CNC milling machines to manufacture components in line with engineering drawings, customer requirements and strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Online programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
* Machining precision components to tight tolerances
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and cutting patterns
* Maximising material utilisation and minimising scrap and waste
* Handling materials and components safely and correctly
* Maintaining accurate production and stock control documentation
* Ensuring full compliance with quality procedures and H&S regulations
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Assisting with training and upskilling of other operatives where required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Experience within a precision machining environment
* Strong CNC milling programming and setting experience
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Good knowledge of machining metals and material handling
* PC literate with strong attention to detail
Desirable:
* Familiarity with Heidenhain controls
* Machine maintenance knowledge
* Counterbalance forklift licence
