Mechanical Technician – Role
Preventing and fixing problems on technologically advanced, high‑speed machines that produce high‑quality products for ¼ of the world’s population.
Responsibilities:
* Provide real‑time leadership on shift, ensuring people and operational goals are met and compliance with company, local, and statutory requirements.
* Maintain equipment associated with production, packaging, and distribution through preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance work.
* Diagnose causes of technical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and apply appropriate resolutions, following work instructions.
* Driver performance on the floor and maintain contact with shift team members on production and people issues.
Qualifications
Required:
* Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English.
* Working toward or having achieved an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a mechanical engineering discipline.
* Hands‑on problem‑solving approach, flexibility, and experience in a FMCG process / tissue / heavy engineering environment.
* Good understanding of instrumentation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and combustion systems.
