Group Financial Reporting Manager
A fast-track career opportunity has arisen within a market leading organisation with a portfolio of recognisable brands. Operating internationally, this is a dynamic organisation known for recruiting and developing high calibre individuals across the business. Based at the company’s Head Office, this is a high-profile role where you will work closely with senior management and be exposed to main Board whilst having responsibility for a small team. As well as overseeing PLC reporting, consolidation, and financial control, you will act as key advisor on all technical accounting issues, supporting decision making and helping the Group to achieve its financial objectives. Furthermore, you will gain exposure to a wide range of ad hoc projects covering areas such as finance transformation, corporate structuring, investor relations and future M&A activity. This is a fast-paced organisation which can offer accelerated career progression both within the Group Finance function itself as well as wider operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the production of the Group’s consolidated financial statements, disclosures, and half year and full year financial announcements, liaising with the Group auditors, and other corporate functions.
* Provide support to the business’s international finance teams surrounding the preparation of Statutory Accounts, helping to ensure best practice processes and high qualify financial information.
* Act as a key point of contact for the external auditors, ensuring smooth delivery of the Group audit process, providing documentation and attending meetings as required.
* Act as a key advisor to senior management across the Group on any technical accounting issues, providing guidance and training where necessary and advising any new standards/technical accounting developments. Advise on the accounting impact of any strategic/corporate activities (M&A, integrations, expansion into new markets etc.).
* Work on wider Finance Transformation projects, driving and delivering new change initiatives across the Group whilst constantly looking at ways to enhance systems, processes and controls.
* Prepare technical accounting papers on areas such as goodwill and impairment, consolidation, going concern and viability as well as all other areas involving judgements and/or estimates, as well as providing guidance and expertise to junior staff.
* Support senior management on a range of other ad hoc projects such as corporate structuring, M&A activity and Investor Relations.
* Manage a small team, providing ongoing support, supervision, training and career development
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a technically strong qualified accountant with excellent communication and presentation skills, able to develop relationships at the most senior level. You will either be seeking your first step from a leading accountancy firm or have already worked within the Group Reporting team of another complex organisation. You will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and be a true team player.
