Role Details
This is a Hybrid role, working from our Cardiff Offices 3 days per week.
What You'll Be Doing
We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our team! You'd be responsible for both manual and automated testing as well as contributing to best practices throughout the SDLC, working closely with our Software Engineers and Product Managers to provide governance and oversight of the quality of the products we develop. We're also big on running POCs to help improve various aspects of QA, so there's plenty of interesting work to get stuck into! Your responsibilities include:
1. Contributing to the ongoing development of automated test scenarios within an agile team
2. Driving continuous improvement, recommending and implementing enhancements to test processes and procedures
3. Investigating user problems referred by Product teams, testing bugs, and managing bug reports
4. Developing a strong understanding of the products and domain to perform hands-on testing from a technical standpoint
5. Supporting engineering colleagues so that testing is a team-wide responsibility
6. Prioritising tasks and workload in a fast-moving environment with a good sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and independence
7. Managing risks and issues effectively with timely escalation to project stakeholders
8. Reviewing design proposals, acceptance criteria, and processes, and recommending improvements
We're Looking For
Required skills:
* Proven software quality assurance experience with a focus on both web and mobile applications
* Experience developing tests for functional and regression testing, including manual, automated, performance, and ad-hoc testing
* Pragmatic bug reporting with an understanding of risk, impact, dependencies, and balancing these factors
* Understanding of the full E2E impact of changes, considering these in QA strategy and approach
* Experience with C# (or similar OOP languages)
* Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
* Experience with testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, RestSharp, Postman, Appium, xUnit, NUnit, etc.
* Experience working with and testing REST APIs
* Experience collaborating across multiple teams
* Understanding of CI/CD concepts and implementing continuous testing practices
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing
* Strong knowledge of exploratory testing and testing concepts
* Proactive problem solving and initiative-taking
* Proficiency in SQL Server queries and scripting
Nice to have skills:
* Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps
* Knowledge of usability best practices to influence and improve user experience
* ISTQB certification
* Experience in a fintech environment
