Overview
Manage the site engineering function and maintain process equipment, buildings, facilities, grounds and services at minimum costs to meet operational requirements, engineering standards and statutory regulations.
Propose and collaborate with the design and execution of capital engineering improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the Bletchley facility, plant, safety equipment and systems to comply with GMP standards and Health, Safety & Environment requirements, notably ATEX regulations.
* Schedule, action and document statutory testing of pressure vessels, lifting equipment, steam boilers, electrical equipment and firefighting/detection equipment and ensure compliance with regulations.
* Manage an effective Preventative Planned Maintenance system to identify and repair faults and minimize unscheduled shutdowns.
* Effectively delegate work to engineers and ensure minimal disruption to production.
* Ensure maintenance staff are trained and competent to carry out tasks assigned to them and have a full understanding of their work procedures and responsibility to follow them.
* Exercise budgetary supervision, maintain minimum inventory holdings, control use of energy, internal labor and third-party contractors.
* Monitor effluent discharge levels, highlight to site management and process departments when levels approach discharge consent limits, and develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications
* HNC or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
* A sound working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, mechanical systems, and civil construction.
* 5 years’ management experience of an engineering or maintenance function within a chemical or process environment.
* Experience in engineering management of hazardous environments and thorough working knowledge of ATEX.
* Knowledge of maintenance planning systems and inventory tracking.
