Clinical Project Associate – AI-Enabled Clinical Design Lab
12-Month Contract | £200–400/day Umbrella | UK Based (Full Right to Work Required)
PE Global is recruiting a Clinical Project Associate to support an innovative AI-enabled Clinical Design Lab within a leading global pharmaceutical company. This initiative plays a key role in integrating artificial intelligence into clinical trial design and development processes.
The successful candidate will provide strategic project management and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely delivery of key milestones across clinical, data science, digital, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Support planning, tracking, and delivery of activities within the AI-enabled Clinical Design Lab.
* Maintain and update detailed project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
* Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across clinical, data science, and technology stakeholders.
* Assist in identifying and managing project risks, issues, and dependencies; support mitigation planning.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation (agendas, minutes, action logs).
* Assist with report and presentation preparation for senior stakeholders.
* Facilitate effective communication and project visibility across internal teams.
* Support change management and adoption activities for AI and digital innovation in clinical development.
* Monitor project performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and quality in deliverables.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Clinical Design Lab.
Core Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
* 2–3 years of experience in project coordination/management within pharmaceutical or life sciences .
* Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with clinical, data, and/or digital teams.
* Solid understanding of drug development and the clinical trial landscape.
* Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
To better align with the needs of this role, candidates should ideally demonstrate:
* 2+ years in management consulting, ideally from leading firms (e.g., MBB, LEK, ZS, CRA, IQVIA/Consulting)
* Experience working within a biopharma organisation, ideally supporting clinical strategy or similar functions
* Broader strategic and change management experience, not limited to clinical operations execution
* General knowledge of clinical development processes, but not a clinical operations / CRA-focused background
Desirable
* Experience with AI, digital, or data-driven transformation in clinical or R&D environments.
* Familiarity with agile methodologies or digital transformation frameworks.
