Overview
Our customer within the energy and utilities sector is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join its in‑house legal team on an interim basis. This role will support the business across a broad range of commercial and infrastructure‑led energy projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pragmatic, risk‑based legal advice to various business units, particularly in relation to infrastructure development and commercial energy initiatives.
* Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including energy services arrangements, private network agreements, waste heat offtake contracts and energy supply documentation.
* Provide guidance on complex supply and trading arrangements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), metering and data‑related contracts, and evolving regulatory requirements impacting the energy market.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure legal risk is appropriately managed while enabling commercial objectives.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified solicitor with strong commercial contracts experience, ideally gained in‑house or within the energy, utilities, infrastructure or renewables sectors.
* Proven track record advising on complex commercial arrangements and project‑based work.
* Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment and provide clear, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders.
