Human Resources Assistant
The salary will be in the region of £30,794 to £33,998 pro rata per annum (for 20-25 hours per week and depending on experience)
Peterhouse is the oldest College in Cambridge (founded in 1284) and is among the smallest (currently 280 undergraduates; 176 postgraduates; 43 Fellows).
The new role of Human Resources Assistant is expected to support the Human Resources Manager in carrying out a wide range of functions to support the College in its recruitment, retention, employment processes and administrative work required for all college staff. The role will be developed with the new postholder and will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities.
The postholder will assist in the full recruitment process of staff into college, as well as the production of casual staff contracts of employment and associated paperwork, ensuring that new permanent and casual staff are managed onto our HR Database. The postholder will ensure that all ‘right to work’ practices are carried out, recorded and monitored. You will assist in the management of the Ihasco training portal as well as website updates and development together with oversight of GDPR compliance within HR. The role also includes the production of reports as and when required and assisting the HR Manager in the development of new HR practices within the College.
You will have demonstrable experience of working as an Human Resources Assistant, together with excellent IT skills and experience of managing an HR Database. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing and be able to work on your own initiative when required.
