Billings Officer Reading Job Summary Our client is looking for a Billings Advisor supports the business by ensuring residents are billed accurately and on time for rent, service charges, utilities, and other housing-related fees. This role is key to maintaining financial accuracy, excellent customer service, and compliance with housing regulations. The Billings Advisor works closely with tenants, housing officers, and finance colleagues to resolve billing queries and maintain up-to-date account information. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and issue rent, service charge, and sundry invoices in accordance with tenancy agreements and organizational policies. * Maintain accurate billing records and ensure tenant accounts reflect correct charges and payments. * Process adjustments, credits, refunds, and account reconciliations where necessary. * Work with the Housing Management and Income Recovery teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure smooth rent collection. * Respond promptly and professionally to resident and stakeholder inquiries about charges or accounts. * Monitor direct debits, standing orders, and payment plans to ensure accurate processing. * Provide billing and revenue data for audits, financial reports, and regulatory submissions. * Experience: * 2 years’ experience in a billing, income, or accounts role, preferably within housing, local government, or property management. * Skills: * Strong numeracy and attention to detail. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. * Proficient with housing management or finance systems (e.g., Northgate, Civica, Orchard, Capita, or similar). * Confident with Excel and data reconciliation. * Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly
