Our Scotland business unit is involved in a variety of projects, including small civil works within our Civils Asset Management framework, large-scale rail infrastructure projects, and non-rail civil engineering infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Effective registration, control, and administration of tender documentation
* Preparation and management of tenders from receipt of documents through to delivery
* Presentation of tenders to senior management at tender review meetings
* Liaison with the Supply Chain team in respect of placing supplier / subcontractor enquiries
* Technical and commercial appraisal of construction labour, plant, materials, and temporary works
* Take-offs from drawings and production of cost-effective tenders from first principles
* Effective analysis and pricing of risks
* Preparation of tender submission documents
* Preparation of estimating reports
* Providing assistance to proposals and contract management functions
Requirements
* Previous experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in multi-disciplinary civil engineering sectors such as rail, highways, aviation, and / or utilities and power
* First Principles Estimating experience
* Civil engineering project experience
* Working knowledge of Excel (& Word) and estimating software
