Specialty doctor in Psychiatry Child & Adolescent Mental Health
BEH and Camden and Islington Foundation Trust have merged to become the North London NHS Foundation Trust, working within the North Central London Integrated Care Board (ICB) and collaborating with general practitioners (GPs) to transform care for residents in the boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington. NLFT NHS Trust recognizes the importance of resilient childhood development and is committed to delivering personalized and compassionate care to young people in North Central London. To this end, a dedicated CAMHS division has been established.
Main duties of the job
We seek an enthusiastic, skilled, approachable, and motivated specialty doctor to join the Haringey CAMHS team, managing care for young people in North Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor interested in working within a well-established adolescent assertive outreach and community CAMHS team comprising a diverse multidisciplinary staff.
This newly created position aims to address increased demand for CAMHS services in Barnet. The successful candidate will be encouraged to innovate under supervision, pursue research interests through the Child and Adolescent Research Unit at University College London, and participate in quality improvement projects, including initiating new ones.

Staff may be required to work at various locations within Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington as needed, on a temporary or permanent basis.
Job responsibilities
The trust is transforming CAMHS services based on the THRIVE model, and the candidate will be encouraged to contribute to these developments to provide compassionate, effective care. New doctors will receive mentorship from experienced consultants and be part of local CPD/Peer support groups. The post may also offer pathways toward consultancy through the CESR route.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in medicine, clinical research, or management
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice
* Registration on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of eligibility
* Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within 3 months
* Section 12 approval or ability to achieve within 3 months
* Good standing with GMC regarding warnings or conditions
Transport
* Valid UK driving license or alternative arrangements
Clinical skills, knowledge, and experience
* Excellent knowledge of the specialty
* Strong clinical skills with a bio-psycho-social approach
* Effective communication skills in English
* Ability to manage complex and uncertain clinical situations
* Decision-making based on evidence and team input
* Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* Relevant specialist/sub-specialist NHS experience

This post requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary ranges from £59,175 to £95,400 per annum, plus London Weighting of £2,162 per annum.
