Role: Childrens Support Worker - Full time, Part time and Adhoc roles available -Location:Swansea and surrounding areas

Randstad are looking for experienced support workers in and around the Swansea area, You will be supporting young people with a range of requirements and experiences from CSE & county lines, mental health issues, complex behavioural challenges.
Role Requirements:
1. Provide support to vulnerable young people- As a support worker you will engage in conversation, interacting with the young people's interest, redirecting behaviours and de-escalating heightened situations.
2. Monitoring - You will be charged with recording in detail the activities of the young persons eg:food intake, petty cash, behaviours, new developments, hobbies, interests etc.
3. Working together- All support workers need to stick to the rules and boundaries set for the young people and work together. If one support worker deviates, it can have dramatic impacts on the behaviour of a young person.
4. Safeguarding - As a support worker, you will need to read care plans and risk assessment for each young person you work with. Safeguarding is paramount, you will need to bring previous knowledge & use the details in the care plan and risk assessments to make informed decisions
5. Day to Day - Your job as a support worker is to support and facilitate the young persons daily requirements (as per the care plan and risk assessment). You will be able to provide day to day support to the young person eg: taking them to school, appointments, activities etc.
6. Liaising with professionals - Working as a support worker with vulnerable young people, you will often need to liaise with Social Workers, CAMHS, Educational and medical professionals and other support workers outside of Randstad. You will need to use the daily logs and your knowledge of the young person to provide detailed updates.
Compensation
Support Worker Days: £14.50 to £16.00 per hour
Support Worker Waking Nights: £16.00 to £18.00 per hour
Support Worker Sleeps: £12.50 per hour -
**Randstad offers holiday pay that is accrued based on the number of hours worked. If you choose not to accept holiday pay, we can add 12.5% to each of the hourly rates above!** Sleeps are excluded and are always £12.50 per hour.
For example: £14.50 per hour + 12.5% =£16.31 per hour or £18.00 per hour + 12.5% =£20.25 per hour**

13. Enhanced DBS - You must have or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS
14. Social Care Wales - You must have or be willing to register with Social Care Wales
15. A MINIMUM of 6 months experience in children's residential care or working as a support worker with young people in care.
Desired Requirements
16. Level 3 in health and social care (children) or Level 3 Residential Children's Care
17. 1 year + experience as a childrens support worker
18. PBM/PMVA/Team Teach or any other behavioural management training.
