About the Role
A leading civil engineering contractor is delivering a major section of the UK's new high-speed rail infrastructure across an 80km corridor in the Midlands and South East. The works include large-scale earthworks, structures, drainage, utilities and associated civil engineering activities.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Section Engineer to join the project, based across the North Chilterns to Aylesbury area, with site compounds located near Wendover, Aylesbury, Brackley and Buckingham.
Reporting to the Sub Agent, the Section Engineer will be responsible for supervising the site engineering team from construction through to project close-out. The role involves managing junior engineers, supporting construction operations, and contributing to the delivery of works safely, on programme and within budget.
Key responsibilities include assisting with temporary works design, coordinating labour, plant and materials, managing setting-out activities, and resolving technical issues on site. The Section Engineer will also monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual, quality and safety requirements.
You will support the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to forecasting, ensuring the engineering team has the correct and up-to-date information required to perform their duties effectively.
