Halton Borough Council is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Duty and Assessment Team, based in the Halton area. This role offers a competitive hourly rate and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the community.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker looking for a challenging and rewarding position within a supportive team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage a varied caseload of children and families in need of support.
2. Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children.
3. Undertake home visits, build rapport with families, and ensure that appropriate interventions are put in place.
4. Produce high-quality assessments and reports for management and court purposes.
5. Respond swiftly to referrals, assessing risk and need to ensure timely and effective interventions.
Requirements
1. Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work).
2. Registration with Social Work England.
3. Proven experience within a Duty and Assessment team or similar front-line social work.
4. Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and social work legislation.
5. Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively while maintaining high-quality practice standards.
6. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
7. Car for work purposes.
