Supplier Development Engineer - Peterlee
Are you an experienced Supplier Development Engineer with a passion for quality and continuous improvement? We have an exciting 12-month contract opportunity in Peterlee for a skilled professional to join our team. We are looking for an individual who can assess supplier quality, drive process enhancements, and ensure all products meet our high standards.
The Role
As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring all incoming supplies are free from defects and in compliance with manufacturing specifications and legal standards. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with our suppliers, guiding them to improve their processes and reduce defect rates.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance: Conduct tests and assessments on incoming supplies, and develop supplier evaluation mechanisms to identify any quality issues.
Performance Management: Generate reports on supplier quality, monitor defect rates, and guide suppliers on how to improve.
Audits & Compliance: Research potential vendors, assess their manufacturing practices, and conduct quality control audits to ensure they comply with organizational and federal standards.
Supplier Support: Work closely with suppliers to enhance their performance through process improvements, and the implementation of quality assurance plans.About You
We are seeking a candidate with a degree or equivalent experience and a proven background in supplier management and quality control.
Essential skills and experience include:
Extensive experience with process improvement and quality orientation.
A strong background in supplier management and supplier evaluations and certification.
In-depth knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with manufacturing standards, procedures, and policies.Details & Benefits
Pay Rate: £24 - £28 per hour
Contract: 12 months
Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Friday.
