In our Early Years and primary setting, we currently offer two pathways of learning specific to pupil need, however we encourage our pupils to develop the qualities of our school values: Respect, Resilience, Confidence, Motivation, Aspiration and Integrity. We are seeking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work with a diverse and complex cohort of pupils in our primary setting. The school has developed a supportive and nurturing provision and environment for pupils with complex special educational needs and require an experienced practitioner to join our team and continue this excellent work. We expect candidates to have at least (please see full details in Job Description):- • A passion for supporting pupils to learn to the best of their ability. • A recognised and relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills. • At least GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade A-C. • Have a strong understanding on complex special educational needs and Autism. • Have a detailed understanding of curriculum areas that support pupils with complex special educational needs. • Have considerable experience of supporting the learning, progress and development of pupils with complex special educational needs. • Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting. • Experience of planning and delivering learning activities. • Experience of using communication strategies e.g. PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, Widgit, objects of reference, AAC devices etc. to develop pupils understanding and communication skills. The salary range for this position is £ 31,022 - £ 33,699 full time equivalent which equates to £ 23,542 - £ 25,574 per annum actual salary for 32.5 hours per week working term time plus 5 training days. The working day is Monday to Wednesday and Friday 08.50 – 15.40 pm and Thursday 08.50 – 16.40 pm. The closing time/date is : 09.00 a.m. on Thursday 15 January 2026.
