Job Description:
Long Term Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Exmouth. This part-time role involves providing individual support to a child with additional needs, helping them to thrive in a mainstream classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored support to the assigned pupil, both in and out of the classroom.
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized learning plans.
* Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a positive and effective manner.
* Foster a supportive and nurturing environment to promote the child's social and emotional development.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children is essential, as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role is preferable but not essential.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to the child’s educational progress.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3) are desirable but not essential.
