Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and facilitating smooth communication between clients and carriers. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes and excellent negotiation skills to optimise freight operations.
Responsibilities
* Daily planning service and cost requirements are met
* Plan all freight movements efficiently
* Ensure Customer are kept informed
* Work with stake holders to deliver a 1st class service
* Pay specific attention to all timed deliveries and ensure they are delivered on time every time
* Liaise with contractors and third parties to generate good and reliable relationships
* Develop pipelines through use of contacts
* Access and develop opportunities that are presented by other parts of the business
• Build strong working partnerships
* Ensure margins are maintained
* Establish and build a Bonded warehouse facility within the Essex Depot
* Build internal an external business network
Skills
* Proficient in transportation management systems and CRM software.
* Strong understanding of supply chain logistics and operations.
* Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms.
* Experience in sales management, particularly within a B2B context.
* Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills for accurate record keeping.
* Familiarity with FDA regulations related to freight forwarding is advantageous.
* Knowledge of 3PL services and EDI processes is beneficial.
