Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a social housing provider in the East Midlands who are seeking to appoint a Head of Asset Compliance & Building Safety on a permanent basis, paying up to £75,000 per annum.
The appointed candidate will work closely with the Senior Management Team to provide strategic and operational compliance leadership across all areas of the organisation. They will develop and implement a corporate compliance framework, taking responsibility for the development and management of robust compliance strategies.
The range of duties which are covered include:
* Provide effective leadership and strategic oversight of statutory compliance across the organisation, ensuring the organisation meets all legal and regulatory obligations related to property safety.
* The role will cover all areas of compliance which include but not limited to: Asbestos, Gas Safety, Electrical testing, Fire safety, Lifting equipment, Water management and Radon monitoring
* develop and implement effective compliance frameworks, ensuring robust governance, reporting, and risk management
* Ensure all servicing, inspections, and testing regimes comply with Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and all associated best practice and statutory guidelines
* Monitor compliance performance, producing reports and recommendations for senior management and the Regulator of Social Housing and other relevant regulatory bodies and stakeholders
* Ensure 100% compliance for all statutory testing, inspections, and servicing across the organisations housing stock.
* Establish clear KPIs, SLAs, and performance monitoring frameworks for all compliance-related services
* Support resident engagement, ensuring tenants and leaseholders understand compliance activities and safety measures in place.
* Prepare, monitor and present accurate fit for purpose management information and reports, to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
Experience and skills required:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Safety, Compliance or Asset Management
* Ideally a member of a relevant professional body (IWFM, CIOB, RICS)
* Significant experience leading compliance in social housing, local authority or property management
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Order 2005, Gas Safety Regulations, and Electrical Safety Standards, Control of Asbestos 2012, and Health and Safety guidance on Water Management.
