East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is investing in Rehabilitation and Home First services with the vision 'The Art of the Possible'. We aim to deliver rehabilitation and care that is closer to home, faster to access, seamlessly coordinated, and built around patients.
Responsibilities
* Act as an integral member of the gastroenterology clinical team, providing specialist nutrition and dietetic management for patients.
* Prevent unplanned hospital admissions by supporting patients requiring urgent assessment and setting up management plans to enable them to stay at home where possible.
* Provide expert advice, support and training to staff, advising on dietetic treatment changes in line with evidence‑based practice.
* Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams and dietetic service leaders to deliver high quality dietetic care.
* Oversee dietetic management of gastroenterology patients, including enteral nutrition and complex patient management.
Qualifications
* 4‑year degree in Dietetics or equivalent, Current State Registration with the Health Professional Council.
* Evidence of postgraduate experience in a specialist area.
* Postgraduate training in behaviour change/motivational interviewing techniques (desirable).
Experience
* Experience with gastroenterology patients and enteral nutrition.
* Assessment and treatment of new patients; education of patient and health professional groups.
* Experience with complex patients and parenteral nutrition (desirable).
* Training of student dietitians (desirable).
Skills
* Sound clinical knowledge of dietetics, current best practice and research.
* Knowledge of prescribable oral nutritional supplements, enteral feeds and medications.
* Current NHS policies and initiatives.
* Evidence of interest in specialist groups such as the British Dietetic Association (desirable).
Professional Registration & Sponsorship
Applicants must have current UK professional registration. Skilled worker sponsorship applications will be considered.
