Job Description:
Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to develop your career further? We have a great opportunity to join our Bolton Vets for Pets team, offering an excellent salary of £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience!
This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) across 4 days, with Thursdays off. You'll work 3, 8am-7pm shifts, with an early finish every other Friday, and 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:45am-12:15pm). Best of all, there are no out-of-hours or overnight inpatient checks.
The people who work at Bolton Vets4Pets truly make the practice. We are a close-knit team despite our growing staff and clientele. It is an open and supportive place to work, where we're constantly learning from each other. It is a fast-paced environment and there is rarely a boring day. I feel very lucky to have started my career with Bolton Vets4Pets with such a great team and support system. - Zoe, Current Vet
About us:
Bolton is a family-friendly city and has ranked as one of the happiest places to live in the Northwest. The town is close to Manchester and Liverpool, under an hour from the Peak District, one hour from Leeds, under 2 hours from the Lake District and Snowdonia National Park in Wales. The cost of living is attractive, especially for those keen to buy property, as residents enjoy a higher standard of living that would cost much more elsewhere in the UK. Those with school-aged children can enjoy good education and access to colleges and universities nearby.
You will join an existing team of 6 vets, 5 nurses (including students), and supportive non-clinical staff. One of our vets has a certificate in exotics, so you'll also get to see some unusual cases from time to time!
About the role:
Our work-life balance is reflected in our schedules. Lunch breaks are guaranteed, with dedicated time for catch-up, calls, and emergencies.
By joining us, you will have the opportunity to fully utilize your nursing skills, including admitting patients, monitoring anaesthetics, recovering, and discharging patients. Assistance from ANAs and an SVN is available for theatre prep and turnaround.
To apply, you should have good general nursing experience, excellent customer service skills, and a cheerful, down-to-earth attitude with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
What We Offer in Return:
We support our team with a competitive salary ranging from £28,000 to £32,000, depending on experience. The role involves no out-of-hours or overnight inpatient checks, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We also provide a generous CPD allowance, including funded certificates, and paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS). Additional benefits include:
* 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home, and the Groom Room
* Access to high street discounts, cashback offers, and rewards
* Regular social events and a focus on wellbeing
* Contributory pension scheme and holiday allowance
We value diversity and inclusion. Our teams celebrate difference and we encourage applications from all qualified candidates, even if your skills and experience are not a perfect match but you can bring unique contributions through your values and behaviors.
