Oakleigh House provides, pre-crisis, short term respite for adults with Mental Health problems in a non-clinical, homely environment. One room is used as an alternative to hospital admission.
As a Support Worker your main duties will be supporting our Guests in an empathetic, empowering & non judgemental manner enabling them to re-gain control of their Mental Health & avoid going into crisis & work towards recovery.
You will also assist with the day to day running of the house ensuring house rules are followed & health & safety is maintained.
This role involves 'lone working' so you must be able to work under your own initiative as well as part of a small dedicated Team.
The role includes a 'sleep in'.
The project is open 24/7 so your shifts can be on any day of the week. Flexibility is essential.
Life experience is more important than qualifications but you must have a good level of general education.
Knowledge of Mental Health conditions & personal experience would be advantageous.
Must be prepared to learn & take part in additional training.
Must be a Team player.
An holistic therapy qualification would be an advantage.
This role is for 20hrs per week. (Overtime available).
Female candidates due to Clients needs.
