We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and advanced use cases such as AI and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
* Ingest data from multiple sources including databases, APIs, event streams, and flat files.
* Ensure data pipelines are scalable, fault‑tolerant, and performant.
* Design and implement data models (star schema, dimensional models, data vault).
* Develop and manage datasets in data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
* Optimise data storage and query performance.
* Build data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS.
* Work with technologies like:
o AWS Glue / Redshift
o Implement infrastructure‑as‑code where applicable.
Data Quality, Governance & Reliability
* Implement data validation, profiling, and quality checks.
* Monitor pipeline health, data freshness, and performance.
* Support data governance, lineage, and metadata management.
* Work closely with:
o BI developers and analysts
o Data scientists and ML engineers
o Product and business stakeholders
* Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
* Support reporting platforms such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
Security & Compliance
* Ensure data platforms comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
* Implement data access controls, encryption, and retention policies.
Required Experience & Skills
Core Technical Skills
* Strong experience with SQL and data modelling.
* Hands‑on experience with Python for data engineering.
* Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using modern frameworks.
* Knowledge of batch and streaming data processing.
Data Technologies
* Data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift)
* Distributed processing (Databricks)
* Strong hands‑on experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS
* Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for data workloads.
* Reliable and scalable data pipelines in production.
* High‑quality, trusted datasets for analytics and reporting.
* Reduced data latency and improved data availability.
* Strong collaboration with analytics and business teams.
