Training Support Driver

Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Support Driver to join our Distribution team. This role is ideal for a professional, safety-focused driver who enjoys supporting others, maintaining high standards, and playing an active part in the smooth running of the operation—both on the road and in the office.
The role combines hands-on driving, driver coaching and support, and operational administration, helping ensure customer service, compliance, and team performance remain consistently high.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Customer Service
4. Pick and deliver customer orders accurately, safely, and professionally, ensuring department objectives are met.
5. Provide driving cover across the team for planned and unplanned absence.
6. Ensure invoices are completed correctly, signed, and adjusted where required.
7. Collect monies against invoices in line with company procedures.
8. Maintain strict control of product temperatures, ensuring all checks are completed and recorded accurately.
9. Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness at all times.
10. Maintain smart, professional uniform standards.
Compliance & Safety
11. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Hygiene, Vehicle, and Tachograph legislation.
12. Support management vehicle checks and defect reporting, helping maintain fleet standards.
13. Actively promote a strong safety culture across the driver team.
Training, Coaching & Driver Support
14. Act as a positive role model and point of support for drivers.
15. Assist with the training, mentoring, and assessment of new and existing drivers.
16. Provide coaching to improve service levels, compliance, and cost effectiveness.
17. Support delivery of depot or Network strategy changes through driver briefings and training sessions.
18. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of delivery rounds to support cover, training, and operational resilience.
Operational & Office Support (TMS / Admin)
19. Support Distribution Management with Transport Management System (TMS) tasks, including:Route and round familiarityDriver and vehicle allocation supportBasic job moves and checks as required
20. Assist with low-level investigations such as:Delivery issuesService failuresVehicle or compliance-related queries
21. Cascade key operational information between management and drivers to ensure clear communication.
