Axon Moore are delighted to be recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established engineering firm in Chesterfield.
As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance department with day-to-day operations. You’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks including:
Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
Managing petty cash and company credit card transactions
Prepare VAT returns
Assisting with payroll and timesheet collation
Supporting month-end procedures and reporting
Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with financial procedures
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar finance or accounts role.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Knowledge of VAT, CIS, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, and payroll is advantageous.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with accounting software Sage 50 is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desired qualifications:
AAT Level 2 or above (or working towards it)
Experience with Sage or similar accounting systems
