Job Overview
Personal assistant required for a 13-year-old boy living in Llandaff North, Cardiff. He has a diagnosis of Autism with associated learning and communication difficulties. He needs a 2:1 support ratio due to his limited communication skills and may display challenging behaviour. However, he enjoys going out and will enjoy accessing the community with support.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal and domestic support in an environment outside the personal assistant's own home.
* Assist the boy in daily activities, ensuring safety and adherence to any care plan.
* Maintain communication and support strategies tailored to his Autism diagnosis.
Requirements
* Reliable, caring, trustworthy, compassionate, friendly, and sociable.
* Car driver essential.
* Bengali speaking desirable.
Benefits & Conditions
Though a part-time role, a formal job will be offered requiring a National Insurance number. A probation period will be required initially. Wages will be paid 4-weekly, with 5.6 weeks paid holiday pro rata. You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support must be carried out away from the personal assistant's own home.
