Warehouse Operative / Parcel Sorter Employment Type: Full Time and Part Time hours available Shifts Available: Afternoon or Night Shift Location: PL6, Plymouth Overview We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring goods are handled, stored, and dispatched efficiently and safely. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical fitness, and a proactive approach to maintaining operational standards. Key Responsibilities Safely load and unload goods from delivery vehicles and containers in a timely and efficient manner. Accurately stock and organise inventory to ensure products are readily accessible. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in accordance with safety guidelines (where trained and authorised). Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory and maintain accurate stock records. Carry out shipping and receiving duties, ensuring all items are correctly processed and documented. Undertake manual handling and heavy lifting tasks in line with health and safety regulations. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently for dispatch. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times. Skills and Experience Previous experience in warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, and stock control, is desirable. Forklift licence or experience operating forklift equipment is advantageous. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred. Knowledge of AS400 systems would be beneficial but is not essential. Basic mechanical awareness to support minor equipment maintenance is an advantage. Good understanding of shipping and receiving processes. Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely and effectively. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when picking and packing orders. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
