SHEQ Advisor
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 7.30 am - 5.00 pm, 1-hour lunch break
Department: SHEQ
Location: Covering Southeast (Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire)
Salary: £40-50k + Car Allowance

Partners are recruiting an experienced SHEQ Advisor based in Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, or Surrey to cover the Southeast region. Do you have experience in civil engineering and water industry?
The SHEQ Advisor will support and advise on Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards, and fostering a culture of continual improvement.
Role Summary:
1. Produce reports on work/projects/activities.
2. Stay updated with new legislation and industry developments.
3. Act as a role model supporting the company’s vision, priorities, and values.
4. Deliver safety bulletins, toolbox talks, and alerts on SHEQ issues.
5. Conduct D&A testing (training provided).
6. Perform audits and inspections for compliance.
7. Support incident investigations, analyze root causes, and assist in corrective actions.
8. Report incidents per company and client protocols.
9. Provide SHEQ inductions.
10. Attend SHEQ meetings with company and clients.
11. Support management system development and implementation.
12. Review risk assessments and safe systems of work, recommend mitigation strategies.
13. Identify training needs and escalate as necessary.
14. Participate in employee SHEQ meetings and stand-down events.
15. Perform other duties as appropriate.
Candidate Experience Required:
* Proven experience in utilities or construction.
* Knowledge of SHEQ regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Passion for safety, health, environment, and quality, with ongoing professional development.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to travel within Southeast and nationwide as needed.
* Availability for out-of-hours on-call support.
Essential Qualifications:
* NEBOSH General or Construction
* UK Driving Licence
* CITB SEATS
* Technical Member of IOSH (desirable)
* NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate (desirable)
