Description
Join our team for the fall harvest season! We’re seeking a Seasonal Elevator Operator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficiently handling operations. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with the receiving, storing, and shipping of grain, as well as performing maintenance tasks as qualified. The ideal candidate will contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment by promoting open communication, collaboration, and shared responsibilities. Above all, the Elevator Operator is expected to uphold and enforce all safety protocols, maintaining a safe, productive, and efficient workplace for everyone.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
* Greet customers in a courteous, positive manner and assist with inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a prompt and professional way.
* Load and unload grain trucks, inspect grain for moisture, insects, and foreign material.
* Operate equipment to move grain into storage or loadout, including conveyors, trippers, and flow pipes.
* Monitor grain temperatures using thermometers and record readings.
* Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on elevator equipment.
* Fill anhydrous ammonia tanks as needed.
* Maintain a clean, organized facility that meets safety and operational standards.
* Work a flexible schedule during harvest season, including variable days, shifts, and potential overtime.
* Accurately complete required paperwork and maintain clear verbal/written communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
* Follow all safety protocols and company procedures; maintain a professional appearance and punctual attendance.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support team and location goals.
Requirements
The role involves frequent physical activity, including lifting, climbing ladders and equipment, and working in varied environments, requiring full adherence to safety protocols. Employees may be exposed to loud noise, extreme weather, hazardous materials, and potentially dangerous conditions, emphasizing the need for awareness and implementation of all safety procedures.
