Role Overview
As a Graduate Naval Architect or Graduate Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic engineering team, contributing to the design, development and delivery of ship design projects. The role is designed to provide hands‑on experience to support your transition from academic study to professional engineering practice and support your progression towards Chartered Engineer. We would highly welcome applications from candidates with degrees in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design and analysis of various ship design platforms including the preparation of technical documentation.
* Support project planning, documentation and reporting activities.
* Participate in site visits, inspections and commissioning activities.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design, production and quality assurance.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation projects.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
* Engage in professional development activities and work towards chartership.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Desire to work within the shipbuilding and marine industry.
* Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., CAD, analysis tools).
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
* Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to travel if required.
