Job Title: SAP S/4HANA Technical Specialist – Hybrid / Central London Contract: 6 months (with potential extension) \ Location: Central London (Hybrid) About the Role: We are looking for a Senior SAP Technical Specialist to manage, maintain, and support a business-critical SAP system that hosts applications for the processing and issuance of bank notes and secure storage of gold bullion. The role will focus on SAP Basis (technical platform support, upgrades, Oracle DB, and Linux O/S administration) and requires expertise in large-scale transformations and SAP platform change programs. Key Responsibilities: Lead major SAP technical change projects and platform upgrades. Maintain SAP applications, databases, and operating systems. Define as-is and to-be technical designs and architectures for SAP platform technology. Provide SAP technical support to business users 24x6, with occasional out-of-hours (evening/weekend) support. Produce high-quality deliverables that comply with software development and assurance principles. Required Skills & Experience: Expert SAP Basis knowledge (SAP Certified Application Associate minimum). Hands-on experience with Oracle-based SAP platforms, Linux O/S, and major SAP platform upgrades/migrations. Experience in at least 3 full-cycle SAP installation or upgrade projects (requirements → design → delivery → BAU support). Strong knowledge of SAP application lifecycle, including logistics, enhancement packs, upgrades, and advanced corrections. Excellent communication, organization, and self-motivation. Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira). Desirable Skills: TOGAF foundation or formal solution architecture experience in SAP technology. Experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Database clustering. In-depth Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience for SAP solutions. Working Expectations: SC Cleared or SC Clearance Eligible candidates only. Primarily remote work, occasional visits to site required. Core hours: 09:30 – 16:30. Out-of-hours support rota: Sunday through Friday, 1 week in 3 (17:00 – 08:001).
