As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Automation Project Engineer to complement their highly successful Projects team.
Tasked with supporting multiple projects averaging GBP75k as required by the Project Manager, the successful Automation Project Engineer candidate will develop Functional Design Specifications and associated Controls layouts according to FDS requirements, as well as associated Safety Matrix and Device List information. With creative skills and experience to develop automation solutions, you will support electrical installation planning, commissioning and final acceptance testing and visit customer sites as required to ensure milestones and customer satisfaction are achieved.
You will develop technical documents in line with client requirements to the industry standard using technical features, diagrams and language, and maintain overall responsibility for project gateway sign off for the automation of the project: including (but not limited to) FDS, electrical design (including AutoCAD layouts and converting mechanical layout into Controls layout), FAT, electrical installation planning, commissioning and final acceptance testing. Responsible for all aspects of Resource Management for each assigned project, you will ensure project materials are identified, in budget, ordered and delivered onsite to the project schedule and will create associated project documentation to satisfy CE/UKCA marking requirements.
With excellent organisational and communication skills at all levels, you will support the activities of fellow team members and ensure compliance with relevant H and S legislation as applicable and provide weekly project updates on task status as required.
Able to work away as required and also attend meetings at an associated facility in Nottingham, you will undertake additional training where required and be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of the team, both on site and in the workshop, ensuring all relevant Health and Safety legislation is adhered to.
Skilled in all aspects of scheduling, prioritisation, budget management, task management and risk management, you will demonstrate at least 3 years previous experience of project management within a logistics automation environment with proven knowledge and experience gained in electrical/PLC design and development ideally from a conveyor, robotics or automotive arena.
