Prudential Risk Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Prudential Risk Analyst to lead the development of our credit analytics capabilities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a balanced portfolio of forward and backward-looking credit MI.
Working alongside the Chief Risk Officer, you will oversee credit and prudential risk areas, such as lending policies, Credit Risk Management Framework, ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, and Resolution Pack. This is a standalone, hands-on role.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding and experience in credit and prudential risk within Credit/Prudential Risk, Finance, or Treasury, in a first or second line capacity.
* At least 2-3 years of recent relevant prudential risk management experience within a similar regulated entity.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring and enhancing the Society’s credit analytics, including portfolio credit quality analysis, loss given default modelling, stress indicators, and climate change financial impacts.
2. Analyzing and providing feedback on regulatory documentation such as ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, and Resolution Pack, along with key regulatory returns and operational resilience.
3. Overseeing and challenging risk appetite, liaising with first line owners to review risk limits, early warning indicators, and policies.
4. Conducting second line reviews and asset deep dives, reporting to executive and Board committees.
5. Participating in the Retail Credit Risk Committee.
6. Leading the development of the Green Agenda, ensuring sustainability and colleague engagement.
7. Collaborating with the Chief Risk Officer on the Society’s insurance renewal process.
Qualifications and skills:
* Background in Credit Risk, Finance, or Treasury in a first or second line role.
* 2-3 years of recent prudential risk management experience in a regulated environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Understanding of credit risk regulations, responsible lending, ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery Planning.
* Strong communication skills, capable of presenting assessments confidently to the Board and PRA.
* Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach and commitment to professional development.
* Attention to detail and high-quality work standards.
* Relevant qualifications and ongoing professional development (desirable).
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A*-C), including English and Maths.
