The Vacancy
Part of the RSK Group, RSK Wilding are currently seeking experienced ecologists and other environmental practitioners with a proven track record and passion for delivering restoration, biodiversity offsetting, and/or habitat monitoring and evaluation. We are a multidisciplinary and innovative team committed to leading the standards of nature recovery while providing solutions using a collaborative approach that provides proven benefits for both biodiversity and our clients.
You will review and conduct assessment of reports, management plans and monitoring data in terms of quality, outcomes, risks and associated requirements.
Main Responsibilities
* Contribute to overall team and service quality assurance and standards
* Field survey skills with a focus on UKHab and condition assessments.
* Liaising with team members, wider RSK Biocensus, and clients or 3rd Parties (e.g. local planning authorities, habitat banks, landowners, consultants).
* Managing ecological projects, including the timely delivery of reports and survey outputs.
* Client liaison.
* Maintaining project programmes and managing project budgets.
* Contributing to bids and tenders for new work
We are also keen to hear from anyone with experience of land management for conservation purposes.
Key Skills & Experience
* Habitat creation, restoration, habitat management and monitoring, and land management.
* Monitoring and evaluation of schemes and their impacts and assessing risks to success.
* Design and feasibility across the following areas: habitat restoration, biodiversity net gain, nutrient neutrality and carbon.
* Important areas of expertise: botany and habitat surveying with a focus on all aspects of Biodiversity Net Gain.
* Experience in other areas such as marine and coastal restoration; river and wetland restoration; species reintroductions (desired)
A Full UK Driving licence and use of own vehicle will be required for this role.
Personal Attributes
You will have the ability to communicate appropriate ecological information to ecologists and non‑ecologists in a way that is clear, concise and constructive.
Being able to promote a culture of honesty and equity and to be someone who leads by example will also be key to this role.
