CTVC is seeking a Senior Production Manager or Line Producer for a new series of BBC Live Lessons.
The Line Producer will oversee the planning and delivery of each production, ensuring logistical, financial, safety, and compliance standards are met, while supporting creative teams to deliver high-quality content.
These will include 8 shows filmed across the UK, with some live and some pre-recorded. The role is based in our Manchester office, with travel to locations in the UK as needed, and support from a Production Coordinator.
Start date: the week commencing 4th August 2025.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the full production process from pre-production to post-delivery.
Create detailed schedules, call sheets, and workflows for studio, location, and digital outputs.
Monitor and control budgets, collaborating with finance and the Production Executive to ensure cost efficiency.
Source and contract crew, suppliers, and facilities, adhering to BBC procurement policies.
Brief, consent, and risk-assess contributors, including children, schools, and guest experts.
Oversee compliance, insurance, rights, and safeguarding documentation.
Ensure the smooth operation of live broadcasts, coordinating with studio teams, technical staff, and presenters.
Coordinate with BBC Education for asset delivery and publication.
Promote sustainability practices aligned with Albert and BBC environmental commitments.
Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Line Producer or Senior Production Manager in live or studio broadcast environments.
Excellent organizational, logistical, and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Experience managing complex budgets.
Familiarity with BBC production systems, policies, and legal standards (or similar broadcasters).
Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
Understanding of safeguarding policies for working with children in educational content.
Experience with technical operations, studio setups, OBs, or remote workflows.
Desirable: Experience with educational or children’s programming (e.g., BBC Teach, CBBC, Bitesize).
Familiarity with BBC systems like Silvermouse.
Albert carbon literacy certification.
First aid or studio safety training.
