Methods Business and Digital Technology Limited

Methods is a £100M+ IT Services Consultancy that partners with central government departments and agencies to transform public sector operations in the UK. Established over 30 years ago and UK-based, we leverage skills in transformation, delivery, and collaboration to create end-to-end, people-centred, safe, and future-ready business and technical solutions.

Our human touch differentiates us from other consultancies, system integrators, and software houses—placing people, technology, and data at our core. We aim to create value and sustainability for our clients, staff, communities, and the planet.

We support our clients' project success through collaboration, sharing skills, and solving problems. At Methods, we enjoy our work, embrace learning from mistakes, and maintain a fun, dynamic environment.

Primarily focused on the public sector, Methods is expanding its private sector client base.

Methods was acquired by the Alten Group in early 2022.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will be based on-site, 5 days per week.

Role Overview:

As a Business Analyst in this dynamic programme environment, you will triage incoming work requests, assess their strategic fit with programme objectives, and recommend whether they should proceed. You will collaborate with the Project Office to prioritize initiatives, support Product Owners in capturing high-level requirements, and present them to the Requirements Review Board, managing agendas, recording outcomes, and occasionally presenting on behalf of the Product Owner.

Your expertise will be vital in mapping business processes using BPMN tools like Visio or Sparx Enterprise Architect, conducting data analysis, and supporting design teams to ensure high-level designs meet requirements. You will act as a liaison between technical and business teams, facilitating trade-offs and ensuring user stories and testing activities align with requirements. You will also contribute to agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and backlog refinement, and provide assurance at the Test Assurance Board that outputs meet expectations.

This role demands a proactive, flexible approach, strong collaboration, attention to detail, and operational support. You will be on-site four days a week, with occasional travel to other customer sites and the ability to respond swiftly to urgent operational needs. Administrative responsibilities include onboarding staff, managing office access/security, and maintaining Jira and Confluence platforms, offering a varied and engaging professional experience.

Requirements:

* Triaging work requests to determine strategic fit and making recommendations.
* Collaborating with the Project Office to prioritize work requests.
* Mapping business processes using BPMN in Visio or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
* Elliciting and documenting high-level requirements for presentation to the Requirements Review Board.
* Managing the Requirements Review Board agenda, taking minutes, and documenting outcomes in Confluence. Supporting or presenting requirements on behalf of the Product Owner as needed.
* Assisting the Architecture/Design team in preparing high-level designs and ensuring they meet requirements.
* Performing data analysis on sample data sets and documenting findings using Sparx Enterprise Architect.
* Managing agendas for the Technical Review Board and Test Assurance Board, recording outcomes in Confluence.
* Acting as a liaison to trade requirements that are unfeasible or cannot be delivered within constraints.
* Supporting Product Owners in preparing user stories and supporting agile team planning.
* Reviewing test scripts to ensure coverage of requirements and providing assurance that delivered products meet these requirements.
* Providing ad-hoc support for data import/export processes and administration of Jira and Confluence platforms.
* Acting as an Impex Authoriser for data import requests (future requirement).
* Expected to work four days a week on-site, with some flexibility for remote work, and occasional travel to other sites.

This role requires security clearance, including a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check. Details will be discussed at interview.

Methods is passionate about its people and their development:

* Autonomy to grow your skills and experience
* Involvement in impactful projects
* Inspiring leadership and collaborative environment

We offer various benefits, including training, wellness programs, flexible working, social activities, generous leave, volunteering days, pension schemes, bonuses, insurance, and other perks. For a full list, please visit our website.
