Closing Date Tuesday 17 February 2026 Reference SCI358826 Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in synthetic organic chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Ross Denton in the GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry within the School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham. The successful applicant will design and synthesise new organocatalysts and explore their application in deoxyamination reactions. The project will also include mechanistic and kinetic studies as well as total synthesis of bioactive amines to demonstrate applicability. Successful candidates must have a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or a closely related area. In addition, candidates should have hands-on experience in inert synthesis and organic methodology development, including reactivity studies and mechanistic investigations. Experience in organophosphorus chemistry is advantageous, but not essential. Creative problem solving, excellent oral and written communication skills, teamworking skills, the ability to manage the day-to-day running of a research project and a track record of high-quality publications are expected.
