Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a supportive and forward-thinking Secondary School in Bury, who are seeking an experienced and dedicated Pastoral Lead to join their team with an immediate start.
This is a vital role within the school, focused on supporting pupils' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and overall engagement with learning. Due to the nature of the position, only candidates with previous experience working in schools or within the education sector will be considered.
The Role
As Pastoral Lead, you will play a key part in ensuring students are supported both academically and emotionally, working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, families and external agencies. Responsibilities will include:
1. Providing day-to-day pastoral support to pupils across the secondary age range
2. Managing behaviour, attendance and punctuality, implementing school policies consistently
3. Supporting vulnerable pupils and those facing barriers to learning
4. Liaising with parents/carers, external professionals and safeguarding teams
5. Monitoring student progress, wellbeing and engagement
6. Contributing to safeguarding procedures and pastoral intervention plans
7. Acting as a positive role model and promoting high expectations
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
8. Have proven experience in a pastoral role within a secondary school or education setting
9. Demonstrate strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
10. Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
