Possible Employment After Completion
* Develop skills to obtain patient consent according to Trust policies.
* Follow individual care plans under supervision, reporting changes to the Registered Nurse/Assistant Practitioner.
* Participate in basic patient assessments and provide personal care, ensuring high standards of skin integrity and patient alertness.
* Practice safe care following Trust guidelines, maintaining concentration despite interruptions.
* Adhere to infection prevention and health and safety policies.
* Keep the patient’s bed space clean, tidy, and accessible, with necessary items within reach.
* Develop skills to promote patient self-care and independence.
* Support health education aligned with policies and clinical standards.
* Maintain effective record keeping and communication with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Ensure equipment is well maintained and report faults promptly.
* Work effectively as part of a team.
* You will undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard as a Healthcare Support Worker through Weston College.
* You will attend college workshops as scheduled, with on-site assessments to evaluate progress.
* Upon completion, your qualification will be assessed through an Apprenticeship Assessment.
Shift patterns will vary each week.
