Job Overview
An exciting opportunity within the Student Education team to work as a Practice Education Facilitator (PEF). The position is a 6‑month secondment, with potential for advancement from Band 5 up to Band 6. The PEF is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and assuring high‑quality practice learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements across all care units.
Main Duties
* Provide strong, skilled, professional leadership and guidance in support of practice education and development of all registered and unregistered care staff, students and apprentices.
* Lead and influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by supporting managers, professional leads, practice‑based assessors and supervisors.
* Continuously improve the quality of the practice learning experience by offering additional opportunities for skills development.
* Support the lead practice education facilitator in implementing and embedding the Safe Learning Environment Charter (SLEC) within the clinical setting.
* Work with students and apprentices across all disciplines on all clinical (excluding medical) courses offered within the Trust.
* Act as a role model, demonstrating the Trust’s behavioural framework and the NHS Constitution, and when in clinical practice settings (0.6 WTE) the correct clinical uniform policy.
* Ensure compliance with the Trust’s COVID‑19 vaccination policy, requiring both COVID vaccinations unless exempt.
* Ensure completion of DBS checks as part of pre‑employment requirements.
