Smart Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to support pupils with complex needs in Years 6–11 within a specialist educational setting in the Stratford-upon-Avon area. Job Requirements:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Previous Teaching Assistant experience at Level 1 desirable
• Training in manual handling, positive handling, or similar is advantageous
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive practice
• Ability to work effectively within a classroom team and alongside external professionals
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult Workforce) or willingness to obtain
• Valid passport
• Ability to provide 24 months of employer or academic references
Role Responsibilities:
• Support pupils’ learning under the direction of the class teacher
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
• Provide feedback and contribute to monitoring pupil progress
• Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
• Liaise with families and professionals where appropriate
• Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
