Production Shift Supervisor (3 positions available) Department: Production Location: Huntingdon Purpose of the Role As a Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient production operations. You will support, guide, and coordinate the production team, helping create an inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone can contribute and perform at their best. Your responsibilities include overseeing daily production activities, supporting resource planning, identifying opportunities for improvement, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Role Scope Direct influence on production output and efficiency. Responsibility for up to 4 direct reports and up to 40 indirect team members. Autonomy to make day‑to‑day operational decisions and contribute to continuous improvement. Work across multiple areas of manufacturing, including those beyond direct responsibility. Balance short‑term operational needs (1–3 month planning horizon) with longer‑term development cycles. Key Accountabilities On a typical day, you will: Coordinate and support the execution of the daily production schedule. Plan and organise resources, raw materials, and staffing to maintain a smooth and effective production flow. Provide supportive leadership by coaching, guiding, and motivating the production team. Work with management to review team capabilities and support colleagues’ development. Ensure staffing levels meet requirements and team members receive appropriate training. Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment remains in working order. Facilitate clear, timely communication within the Production team. Collaborate effectively with other departments to drive efficiency within manufacturing. Analyse daily KPI metrics, reporting and investigating any deviations constructively. Support continuous improvement activities focused on quality, safety, and cost efficiency. Complete audit programmes and ensure standard procedures are followed, addressing any non‑conformances. Carry out any other duties appropriate to the level of the role.
