About Our Client

A leading consumer products manufacturer is seeking a New Product Operations Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end implementation of new products - ensuring they are viable, compliant, costed, tested, operationally ready and delivered on time.This role leads a team of three Project Managers and plays a key part in shaping how the organisation introduces new products across a variety of markets.

Job Description

3. Lead and develop a team of project managers, each managing their own portfolio of new product projects, providing coaching, structure, and guidance.
4. Oversee your own portfolio of high-priority, strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term product strategy.
5. Coordinate cross-functionally across Purchasing, New Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Logistics, and Quality, ensuring all teams are aligned, informed, and meeting project milestones.
6. Work with the Purchasing team to manage supplier timelines, material availability, cost implications, and risk, feeding insights into project planning and decision-making.
7. Collaborate with New Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to turn market insights and customer requirements into operationally viable product plans.
8. Partner with Operations and Logistics to assess production feasibility, capacity constraints, and scheduling, ensuring realistic and achievable delivery roadmaps.
9. Use complex data sets, project KPIs, and advanced technology tools to track progress, forecast risks, support decision-making, and optimize resource allocation.
10. Maintain oversight of compliance, quality, testing, and fit-for-purpose requirements, ensuring operational and regulatory standards are met for all launches.
11. Drive continuous improvement, identifying new ways of working, better processes, and smarter use of technology across projects.
12. Act as the central point for issue resolution and escalation, ensuring timely decisions by bringing the right experts together.
13. Provide clear, actionable reporting to senior stakeholders, highlighting project status, risks, interdependencies, and strategic impact.

The Successful Applicant

14. Proven experience managing a portfolio of complex, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery.
15. Strong people leadership skills, including coaching and developing a team of project managers or coordinators.
16. Experience leading strategic projects with business impact, balancing operational, commercial, and long-term objectives.
17. Skilled at coordinating specialist teams (Purchasing, Product, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Quality) to deliver aligned outcomes.
18. Comfortable working with complex data and project tools to track progress, inform decisions, and manage roadmaps.
19. Commercially aware, able to manage costs, forecasts, and trade-offs effectively.
20. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for senior leadership updates.
21. Experience in manufacturing, operations, or product-focused environments preferred but not essential.
22. Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused, able to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
